Promoting sustainable practices across the NHS, social care and public health.
The campaign promotes and supports sustainable health and care action, to improve the health and wellbeing of patients, staff and communities, save money for services and protect the environment and its resources for future generations.
The campaign is a partnership between the Sustainable Development Unit for NHS England. Public Health England and NHS Employers. It is backed by 25 major national health and environmental organisations that make up the Cross System Group for sustainable health and care.
“The activities of health and care organisations are investments in our future wellbeing. We need to nurture the seeds of transformational change to help to create a truly sustainable health and care system.
The Sustainable Health and Care Campaign is a vital element is doing this – by spreading learning, knowledge and good practice, by celebrating success and achievement and by supporting individuals, teams and organisations across the NHS, social care and public health.”
- Martin Reeves, Chair of the Cross System Group for sustainable development in health.
